Stage Twelve

Bathrooms

Often second only to the kitchen in terms of its central role in the family home, the humble bathroom has moved away from simply being a place to wash.

Today most two-storey new build homes have more than one bathroom and will include a “family” bathroom, an en-suite or wetroom and a downstairs cloakroom.

We understand that choosing the right bathroom suite is important because once fitted it’s difficult to change! This is why we have a huge range of classic and contemporary bathroom designs to help you find the look and feel that’s right for you.

Water Conservation

Did you know that the toilet is one of the largest users of water in the home with an average of 50 litres used for WC flushing per person per day, whilst taps are responsible for 8% of water used in the average household?

However there is lot’s that you can do to help save water in the home. A good place to start is in the bathroom. Wolseley has an extensive range of stylish environmentally friendly products designed to reduce our water consumption and save money.

You might for example, consider fitting a duel flush, low water content cistern which can reduce the consumption of water in the household by 20%. Toilets pre 1993 have a capacity of 9.5 litres compared with modern cisterns which holds on average from 6 to 4 litres. Plumb Center offers a wide range of low water content cisterns in a variety of styles and applications.

Aerated taps also provide a simple solution by combining air with water to use considerably less water while not appearing to do so. Alternatively infra-red taps use sensor detection to control water flow and save energy.

Not forgetting the shower - Plumb Center offer a range of shower heads and fittings to give you water in a generous cascade or time controlled bursts. Try the Mira Ecohandset - which can reduce your  showers water usage by up to 70%.

Water is the most precious of the earth’s resources and we should all do everything we can to use it carefully and sensibly.
