Stage Ten
Insulation
Whilst the majority of insulation in buildings is for thermal purposes, consideration should also be given to accustic insulation, fire insulation and impact insulation.

How much insulation a house should have depends on the design of the building, regional climate, energy costs, budget and personal preference. Building codes will only specify the bare minimum that you have to insulate a house, so it is often recommended you add a little extra for good measure.
Choosing the right insulation for your project is vital and the choice is huge. It includes contrasting products such as plastic foam, mineral wool, synthetic polymers and vermiculite, and natural materials such as cellulose, cork, straw and sheep’s wool. Wolseley Builf Center and Encon can help you the right home insulation to use.
Insulation
Products such as Rockwool which saves more energy than is required for manufacture and Thermaflece designed to keep buildings cool in summer and warm in winter can save you a small fortune.
There are a range of grants available to help with insulation costs. The UK Government funds schemes providing up to £2,500 to households on certain benefits to improve their heating and energy efficiency. Visit A-1 Insulation for the Build Center scheme.
