Wolseley puts the spotlight on self build
Wolseley has announced a series of 2009 self build events at its Sustainable Building Center
(SBC) following the success of its first ‘Self Build Saturday’ last year.
The Self Build events are aimed at all types of self build enthusiasts, from those embarking on their first project to experienced professionals. The SBC in Leamington Spa enables visitors to experience the widest range of sustainable products and renewable technologies in their working environment, all of which are available today.
The events will run on the following dates:
- Saturday 21 March
- Saturday 6 June
- Saturday 10 October
Leading suppliers including Titan, Finnforest, Mira and Dimplex will be exhibiting at the events, with Wolseley’s self build account managers also on hand to look over plans and offer expert advice on project options. Buildstore, the National Self Build & Renovation Center, will host seminars on financing a self build project.
Tim Pollard, Wolseley’s head of sustainability, said: “Self build is a growing solution for many because of its scope, and the flexibility it allows in terms of design, materials and cost.
“We had a fantastic response to our first dedicated self build event and are delighted to confirm the programme for 2009. Visitors can learn more about the sustainable options and renewable technologies available to them, which can help reduce the environmental impact of their new home, as well as helping to lower their energy bills.”
This event schedule coincides with the launch of Wolseley’s new dedicated website for self builders, www.wolseleyselfbuild.co.uk. The site features a forum where visitors can share advice on their own self build projects. There will also be opportunities in the coming months for visitors to submit questions in special live sessions hosted by different subject matter experts. Wolseley’s self build brochure is also now available, detailing the range of products available through Wolseley’s integrated supply chain for every stage of a self build project.
